    that wasnt the intent, if you think about it. it is an amazing game and at around hour 2 or 3 you can see the whole extent of the character customization, although it isnt necessary until hour 20. dont try to be smart, but i enjoyed the challenge. =3k

  3. Trodorne says:

    @WenuxWindia more then 20 hours into the game it is supposedly gets better? that is not making a case in its favor.

  4. Trodorne says:

    @yoyoyo88665 what does rpg stand for? Role Playing Game, kind of hard to take the role of something when the character is pre chosen. in fact if the character with a pre chosen back ground, with no obvious choice what so ever in a story does not make it an rpg. like the CEO said from Square, to tell a good story you can not focus on gameplay. western games are about gameplay but little story. we make our games with story, though with little game play. like i said before read a book for a story.

  5. Trodorne says:

    @b4bodo 10, titus man he was just oozing hostility. 11 created character have so much hostility when they don’t talk. 12, vaan was so useless you could not classify him as hostile in anyways shape or form. 13, lightning is all hostile cause she has to drag around a black comic relief. id be hostile too if i had a bad sterio type following me.. as for these games dominating the jrpg market its is laughed at in japan. if you want a story read a book.

  6. Trodorne says:

    @b4bodo oh man don;t forget bartz in 5, cause he show that meteor some hostile attitude, yeah terra so much hostility from a woman who is mind controlled. 7 cloud was just hostile cause he has lower back problems from carrying large OVERSIZED weapons, plus constant headaches. 8 squall was all about the teen angst, id be hostile too if i sat in my room listening to my chemical romance and amee mann. 9 oh yes a lady killer is real hostile, thats how he gets all the women.

  7. Trodorne says:

    @b4bodo really? you can not point out that the game starts on a train, with the emotionless protagonist, with black man as support. i thought that would have been obvious for everyone. my mistake for assuming so. and yes every main character has hostilitiy, there was lots in the first game for doing a quest to save a princess, alot when you decide to help the rebels in the second game, 3 times as much from the lead in 3rd game. 4 had genuine hostility, more of regret.

    @CHIPSTERO7
    well if you do any post-story exploration of gran pulse, it adds much more to the game…there are side quests and stories, and some of the optional boss fights are puzzles of their own(Neochu for example), you need to look for the puzzles and side quests(like repairing Bhatki and the Oerba tower puzzle), also character customization isnt as linear as they say. weapon upgrades based on your playing style are also very customizable and may change depending on the fight. HATERS GTFO

  9. WenuxWindia says:

    “a little time near the end of the game where it is open-ended” ROFL. as in 100+ more hours of gameplay(without guidebook, 50+ with) this game is MASSIVE

  11. CrimsonFyre says:

    I find it kind of ironic now that i had people having a go at me for hating this game yet now, people are agreeing with me on the totally shit linearity of it! Even the auto-battle gets a word in on the comments, can’t believe it! Wish i knew this before i bought the shitty game now! I’d be £50 up and have not wasted 45 hours of my life! Square Enix should call it a day cos you have totally fookin lost it!

  12. CrimsonFyre says:

    @metal220 Nah, defo don’t get it! It’s awful for a Final Fantasy game, the only thing that’s good is the graphics! They’ve just made money on it from the hype and promotion of using Leona Lewis for it! If you do want to get it, just buy it cheap for £10-15 soon cos i spent £50 on the collectors edition an felt like i been robbed!

  13. TheFranann says:

    @kinggtonii No 9 is my fave too i love it!! and even though 13 may be very different i still like it at the end of the day it is a ff game, and i think if anyone calls them self a fan they will play them all and find something good in every game.

  14. TheFranann says:

    @yoyoyo88665 ah rite cool will stop using auto battle and give it a go cheers!

  15. Usul573 says:

    @CHIPSTERO7
    Considering there’s basically one way to play the game and everyone experiences the same thing….
    Eh who knows

  16. CHIPSTERO7 says:

    @yoyoyo88665
    And yes, FFX was linear, but the linearity was constantly broken up by towns, mini-games, and side-quests, you weren’t just running down corridors for the entire game getting spammed by enemies. Previous games had tons of variation to their gameplay, XIII has almost none. As for the cut-scenes. There are over 25 hours of cut-scenes in XIII, which almost makes it more of a movie than a game. Square may as well have saved me the trouble of playing the game and made a movie instead.

  17. CHIPSTERO7 says:

    @yoyoyo88665
    Stop twising my words for Pete’s sake. I didn’t say that FFXIII was a bad game or that only newcomers liked it. I said that it was designed for newcomers, as well as action-centric gamers, no doubt to broaden Square’s userbase. As for the characters being well-developed, I couldn’t disagree more. Vannile was an oversexualised nonentity, Snow was a one-dimensional meathead, Hope was an overwrought kid on PMT, and the rest weren’t particularly inspiring. But that’s just my opinion.

  18. metal220 says:

    too many people dosent like it, so i dk if i should get it or not

  19. 38GencFenerli says:

    @yoyoyo88665 Some things aren’t ment to be changed dude, you’re forgetting that. Exploring the world is something FF was known for, and now its so fucking linear. Some things really never should change…

  20. drxwnedxwxrld says:

    @yoyoyo88665 You are probably the least ignorant FF fan out of almost all fans on this site. And the most brightest too. :]
    Why would you want the same formula over and over again anyways? You might as well just keep playing FF1-9, then repeat over and over again.

  21. Usul573 says:

    @AndyToushiro
    I got it more for other stuff.
    This game was ok.

  22. Callofdutyman35 says:

    haha did you hear that. IT LOOKS BETTER ON THE PLAYSTATION!!!!!!! hehe eat that xbox

  23. TheEnd501 says:

    The ending was such a cop-out. Snake should have died.

    .
    WTF, Snake is one of the greatest video game characters ever made.
    If you wanted him to die then you have a terrible taste in video game characters.

  24. yoyoyo88665 says:

    @38GencFenerli Like I said (I’m not sure I said it to you though), EVERY truly good series changes as they become more popular. FF series is ALWAYS about change, and if there’s one thing they ALL have in common, it’s that they’re all different from each other. FF’s started taking new bold directions in everything from FFVII, and it’s been like that since. If you don’t like a certain FF, wait till the next one, they’re all different. No matter what, though, is that they’re ALL high quality.

  25. yoyoyo88665 says:

    @CHIPSTERO7 also, I hate it when people assume that people who love FFXIII are “newcomers”. I’ve been an FF fan since I was a little kid and I’ve played 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 12, Dissidia, Chocobo’s Dungeon WIi and 13, and FFXIII is easily one of my favorites. If you don’t like linearity and more of a focus on characters, then that’s just your tastes. It doesn’t make FFXIII bad, because it’s not even CLOSE to bad.
