Access all Archive links at tvinterviewsarchive.blogspot.com Comedian Steve Allen (1921-2000) described his transition from radio into television, working with writing team Madelyn Pugh and Bob Carroll on his prime-time radio show, The Steve Allen Show, and his first television appearance in 1949 as a wrestling announcer for ABC in Los Angeles. He fondly recalled hosting a multitude of Steve Allen Shows for television, and the classic Tonight with Steve Allen, as well as the creation and hosting of PBS’ Meeting of Minds.
