For everyone confused about the “scary ghost stories” line: Telling ghost stories used to be a Christmas tradition. It still is a bit, if you consider that probably everyone watches “A Christmas Carol” every year. I’m guessing that the tradition fell out of favor with the creation of Santa Claus and the growing popularity of Halloween, but I might be wrong.
